This function is undergoing changes in early 2021 and may not match everyone's experience until the transition is finished

There has traditionally been a one to one relationship between an OpenAthens administrator account and an organisation (whether that be a domain organisation or a sub-organisation within a domain). This is in the process of changing and over the early part of 2021.

As with the other account pages, this is split into sections for the password, account details, notes and activity. When you save changes you are asked for your password (your old one if you're changing that).

You can find administrator accounts on the relevant tab in search results or on the organisation summary page. The administrator role is assigned to accounts on the organisation preferences page because where the account sits in your structure of sub-organisations makes a difference to the organisations it can administer.

Password tab

An editable expiry date will only appear here if you are editing another administrator account. You you cannot edit your own expiry date (which you can see below the panel on the left).

Account details tab

The account details section contains the name and contact information we will use to contact you about administrator stuff when necessary. In the future it will include fields from your general account schema.

Notes and activity tabs

These are the same as on any other account

What other changes can I expect to see in the future?

Administrator accounts will be able to access content (at the moment they cannot sign in anywhere except the admin area even if they used to be able to do other things)
