The old interface was basically one big form of options, a terrible date picker and a go button. Whilst not the easiest way to generate a report, it was an incredibly consistent one as each and every report type was done the same way. Since it hadn't changed significantly in more than a decade, workflows may have evolved to expect things to work that way.

Whilst you explore the expanded capabilities of the new interface, this page will show you the ways to get the equivalent reports that you may have been used to.

You should also check out our page on how to make the most of the reporting options.

Reports by user

This is not enabled by default.

The expanded capabilities should make it unnecessary in most cases, but if you think you need this there are some things you should consider about reports and privacy before setting any personally identifiable attribute as reportable via the schema editor.

Reports by group

These appear in the breakdown control.

To get a report split by sub-organsation go to the download option > save to my computer and choose the summary for all organisations option.

Since groups are specific to sub-organisations, you may find names are inconsistent or that new ones pop-up from time to time. If you need consistency the recommended approach is to use a choice-type custom attribute instead.

Reports by organisation

To get a report split by sub-organsation go to the download option > save to my computer and choose the summary for all organisations option.

The Accounts > Usage report additionally has an option to break down by organisation when the scope is set to all organisations.

Reports by permission set

These appear in the breakdown control.

To get a report split by sub-organsation go to the download option > save to my computer and choose the summary for all organisations option.

These used to be the only way for local account sites to break things down. Local account sites can now map any data they like to reportable attributes for far richer reports.

Including sub-organisations

The scope control will include sub-organisations in the totals you see in the interface.

To get a report split by sub-organsation go to the download option > save to my computer and choose the summary for all organisations option.

Broken down by both resources and another attribute

Selecting resources from the breakdown control rather than the resource control will allow you to select a secondary breakdown. The output of this rarely displays well in the interface as you get one series for each combination of resource and secondary breakdown value. The download function is once again your friend - the summary for all organisations option is probably the one you want, but try both.
