  • Access to the OpenAthens administration area at the domain level

  • Subscription to Mandarin Library Automation (MLA)

Method

Look up your redirector prefix

Access the administration area as the domain administrator and navigate to the redirect link generator (Resources > Redirector link generator).

Pop-up window titled 'Redirector link generator'. Advisory text reads 'Redirector URLs can be created by adding (example URL) as a prefix to the target URL, or using the tool below'. Following that are a text field labeled 'Enter target URL' and a button labeled 'Generate link'. There is a 'Close' button at the bottom of the window.

Add your Redirector prefix to MLA

Even though the redirector is not a proxy server, we can use the proxy server function in MLA to insert the redirector prefix and achieve a similar goal.

  1. Contact the MLA support team.

    1. If you have an exiting proxy server prefix registered with them, ask them to update it to your OpenAthens redirector prefix. Confirming your old proxy prefix will help them.

    2. If you do not have an exiting proxy server prefix registered with them, ask them to add your OpenAthens redirector prefix.
