Rename a 1:1 connection

If required, you can change the display name for an identity provider that uses a 1:1 connection. This name is displayed to end users when they go through discovery, as well as in statistics reports.

  1. Go to Keystone settings > 1:1 connections.

  2. Find the entity you want to rename in the list.

  3. From the Options menu, select Rename.

List of 1-to-1 connections, showing the Options menu for a connection called 'Hard Science'. The menu is open, showing the options 'View SAML metadata', 'Update metadata', 'Rename' and 'Delete'.
  4. A pop-up window opens. Enter the new name in the 1:1 connection display name field.
The name must be at least two characters long. We recommend making it no longer than 140 characters (names longer than this don't display well in Wayfinder and other organization discovery tools).

Pop-up window titled 'Rename 1 to 1 connection'. Advisory text reads 'Specify the name by which to call this connection. The name will be displayed in your institutional discovery or WAYF service, such as Wayfinder, and in this dashboard. Choose a name that is friendly to end users.' There is an input field called '1 to 1 connection display name', followed by 'Update' and 'Cancel' buttons.
  5. Press Update. The list of connections updates to show the new name.
